How did it all begin?
After a long and successful TV career travelling the world as a producer and director (most recently for ITV daytime) I left to spend more time with my young children who I had fought a long fertility battle to get. This led me to pursue my dream of starting a photography business to adapted to my new lifestyle. This felt like a very organic transition and now I genuinely feel I have the best job in the world.
After years of producing and directing behind the camera for TV I find such freedom in calling the shots myself and having complete autonomy over the work I produce. My loyal client base is made up primarily of repeat business which I know is due to my connection, trust worthiness, kindness and creativity.
The “why” behind my work is the thrill I get from knowing the images I create for my clients will live on their walls for years to come, cementing their children’s memories and their family stories. Equally for businesses I know my work brings huge value to their brand’s asset portfolio.

What is the concept behind your business or the problem you’re solving?
I provide a safe zone of trust where clients can get in front of my camera knowing they will be shown the best version of themselves. It’s my aim to show them a flattering, beautiful, relaxed yet authentic reflection of themselves or their brand.
My premium personal service for time poor professionals and families results in high end portfolios which people can’t wait to show off to the world. The result is I’m giving women the opportunity to finally be present in their family photographs or branding.
My goal is to take the hard work out of booking photo shoots and the product ordering process by providing 1 to 1 viewing sessions, appointments and after care.
What is your brand vision?
The future for Kika Mitchell Photography is all about growth: Creative growth, personal growth, and financial growth. My intention is to have 4 bookings per month consisting of 1 family shoot, 2 branding shoots and press/events work. I would also love to work closely with a creative agency this year for more creative variety.
I plan to expand my press and events coverage in London. My desire is to work with more big brands that fully align with my brand ethos. I’ve already worked with Astley Clarke, M&S, Petersham Nurseries and Olivia Burton.
