Lisa is a highly-regarded, award-winning skincare expert, product developer and nutritionist with a stellar reputation for providing results-focused skincare.
How did it all begin?
As a child I was fascinated with Rose Quartz and I have always been a Rosacea sufferer so I know first-hand how it feels to be uncomfortable and unconfident in your own skin.
Fast forward 20 years, I was working as a makeup artist and had a model with troubled skin. I then had my lightbulb moment – I was going to create a product that worked for problem skin, a hybrid between makeup and skincare.
I wanted to create a product that really worked – that was backed by science and ultimately delivered results. It was during the extensive research that I discovered, the benefits of Rose Quartz. All these years later, I realised that the stone that spoke to me as a child would be my secret to success and the key to creating a unique skincare brand, unlike anything that was available.
At the time a luxury skincare brand that was results-focused and clean – was ahead of its time. The clean beauty movement hadn’t arrived. It was exhilarating to be a pioneer in this movement.
What sets your business apart?
Healthy Ageing: At the Lisa Franklin Clinic Prive flagship location in Knightsbridge, we believe everyone should be able to age gracefully whilst having it all; firm, radiant skin and a more lifted look. We believe we can achieve these results without the need for harmful and invasive fillers, injections or surgeries. We are proud to be effective but never invasive. We believe it’s time to educate the skin, not freeze it. This is healthy ageing, not anti-ageing. Good for skin, Good for planet: We believe in skincare that is kind to all. I’ve been proud to be a pioneer of sustainable luxury. We are Vegan and Leaping Bunny certified and have received the Butterfly Mark from Positive Luxury for over 7 years. All of our products and ethically sourced, using the finest, sustainably sourced ingredients. We are organic or beyond organic thanks to biotech cultivation methods. We are backed by science, clinically proven and loved by clients.
What is the concept behind your business or the problem you’re solving?
As a leading facialist, I have witnessed first-hand increases in problematic skin and premature ageing associated with modern life which also included my own battle with Rosacea. This unique personal insight and hands-on knowledge motivated me to find high-quality cosmetic ingredients with substantiated efficacy to formulate products to treat all skin types and conditions and adopt these into high-performance treatment protocols. For me, we look after so many skin concerns, from rosacea to redness, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, acne scarring to firmness and lackity.
Where to next/What is your brand vision?
We have just started our Residency at Soho Health Club – Shoreditch House and Soho Farmhouse. I’m excited to continue the growth within the business and have many exciting announcements and launches due throughout 2022.

Share an example of early life that has shaped you?
My mother had a bowl of Rose Quartz in the hallway and I would take some and play with them. I had no idea why I was so connected to this stone or what it would mean for me later in life. 20 years later, I was researching ingredients for my first product, Luminescent Base. It was during this research that I discovered the benefits of Rose Quartz for the skin and general well-being. Rose Quartz calms inflammation, releasing tensioning supporting cell renewal – even the ancient Egyptians carved Rose Quartz into facial masks. I am proud to be the first person to include Rose Quartz in a skincare collection.
Highlights of your business journey so far?
Launching my hero product: Luminescent Base. To date, it’s won over 18 awards and is a cult favourite within the beauty industry. A hybrid between make-up and skincare that focuses on reducing and calming redness and moisturising the skin.

Best piece of advice you have received?
Follow your gut.
Advice to an aspiring entrepreneur or woman just starting her career?
Find the right mentor to guide you and believe in you. Soak up all the education you can and follow your gut. So many people told me it couldn’t be done…and here I am.
What funding route have you chosen for your business and why?
Self-funded until a year ago and is now privately funded.
Some of the challenges you have faced and how you overcame them?
As most business owners know – there are a lot of personal sacrifices and challenges you must make to get where you want to go. Starting a brand is a lot of blood, sweat and tears. It takes time, energy, dedication
There were so many brick walls I came up against. So many people telling me I can’t do this, can’t do that. I really had to stick to my guns and it was a fierce determination that got me here today. But there were other challenges we faced along the way.
The beauty industry is a saturated market with a lot of brands fighting over the same space. It can be extremely difficult when you’re fighting against major global competitors with a budget that would obliterate yours. It feels like a David v Goliath situation at times.
The Green/Blush washing from these brands can cause confusion and distrust amongst customers. Mis-information can also arise from journalists jumping on bandwagons for stories can also cause also confuse the customer.
Being sustainable means being more expensive. Ethically sourced costs more. Using only the finest, sustainably sourced ingredients costs more. That means our Price Points are higher than global brands that choose not to go down this route and therefore can keep their costs extremely low and see higher profit margins.
Why is it important to support women-led business?
I’m a female business owner who had female mentors to guide me to my success. My team is majority female. It’s so important to inspire and encourage the next generation of female business owners. As a member of the Princes Trust Women Supporting Women Charity, I see the impact this can make.
