Small but mighty Associate group of progression partners enabling companies to have mentally fit, resilient, optimally achieving leaders and managers fit for their future.

How did it all begin?

I’m passionate about what makes us feel empowered to go ahead, take the next step and achieve, versus what stops and blocks us in life. The training and knowledge I’ve acquired on my personal journey led me to combine my 30 years experience of business, leadership development and coaching to set up my coaching and people development business. I had services and skills to offer that I knew would help others.

What sets your business apart?

Many businesses offer training or coaching and give people new skills and tools. We work on getting the right mindset foundation established first. This allows our clients to hold on to the tools and skills that best suit them. Our clients’ high performance then has a solid sustainable foundation to grow from.

Our four associates and founder have backgrounds in a range of industries and most have decades of experience at senior levels in business. They bring all their business experience and acumen as well as their leadership, coaching and training experience.

What is the concept behind your business or the problem you’re solving?

At Mastering Mindsets our belief is that everything starts and ends with mindset. We have the power within us to achieve what we choose to aim for – Healthy High Performance at work and in life. Identifying the right mindset is the start of that journey; mastering it means putting it into action.

We aim to be your Thinking and Building Partners on that journey with you. We put you and your needs at the forefront. We have a comprehensive range of tools and techniques which we adapt as you, or your organisation, evolves.

Where to next/What is your brand vision?

My vision is to increase the number of associates that are part of the business to better reflect our client base and to allow us to reach more clients. To increase all the online Hub resources we provide clients so they always feel resourced to tackle situations. And to increase the number of individuals, teams and organisations that have Resilient Healthy High performance not just High performance

What do you feel passionate about/what drives you?

I feel passionate about everyone getting a chance to have the insights, tools and opportunity to get out of their own way and be their best.

Share an example of early life that has shaped you?

Going to boarding school in the UK at the age of 10 having grown up in Africa. I was different, a fish out of water and had to learn how to connect and communicate with people so they didn’t find my difference scary, and I could make friends and be understood.

Highlights of your business journey so far?

Becoming a Vice President of a large global pharmaceutical company in my 30s – years of hard work, learning, adaptability and relationship building led to my successes.

Getting voluntary redundancy and setting up my business in an area that was totally different to my 25 years in R&D but was my passion and had underpinned my leadership and management in the corporate world.

Key lessons you have learned along the way?

When things don’t work out, stop, pause and be curious as to what it is making space for instead.
Trust in using others to help.
Dial down expectations and dial up communication and clarification.

Best piece of advice you have received?

The paradox in life is that what you want most will come to you when you let it go.
It can be true in so many different ways and different spheres.

Advice to an aspiring entrepreneur or woman just starting her career?

Spend time understanding your Personal Leadership Brand – what you want to be known for, how you want to be perceived and what you may be doing currently that could be diminishing how you are perceived.

What funding route have you chosen for your business and why?

All just funded through work received.

Some of the challenges you have faced and how you overcame them?

Managing all the admin needed – finally took on a virtual assistant.
Loneliness as a sole worker – created an associate group so we work as a collaboration.

Why is it important to support women-led business?

Because we deserve the recognition, helping hand, tools and belief in ourselves just as much as anyone else. However, often our humility, lack of self confidence or negative work cultures have preventing us from being able to be as brilliant as we are.
