London personal branding and wedding photographer.

I help business owners build their visibility and bring their brands to life through imagery. As a visual storyteller I capture a wedding day in a natural and relaxed style as the moments unfold.

How did it all begin?

Coming from a family of photographers, my brothers and I were constantly surrounded by cameras. I first started photographing friends, all their birthday parties, I photographed events at university and then I slowly discovered the world of fashion photography. At the age of 26 I moved to London and made it a mission to become a fashion photographer. I connected with other creatives (stylists, makeup artists, models) and I started building up my portfolio. This then led me to work with a few smaller fashion brands and their owners. Fascinated by their stories, I wanted to capture the products and the creators themselves, which is how I got into personal branding photography.

I never thought I would get into weddings, however, one day a friend asked me to photograph her friend’s wedding. It was a good opportunity to try something new, a challenge. I fell in love with weddings and I’ve been photographing them ever since.

Nowadays, I focus on personal branding and wedding photography.

What sets your business apart?

I am a big people-person, friendly and understanding. For me, how people feel always comes first, so I want them to feel comfortable and feel like they can be their true genuine selves. My approach is laid back and fun and I always give it my all to create best-looking images and make the photoshoots as enjoyable of an experience as it can be.

What is the concept behind your business or the problem you’re solving?

I help business owners to present themselves, the face behind the brand, to tell their audience who they are and what they do. People buy from people and are more likely to become customers if they feel like they can connect with a brand.

As a wedding photographer, I help couples by being very hands-on and by making them feel at ease whilst capturing the moments of one of the most special days of their lives.

Where to next/What is your brand vision?

Work with even more women-led businesses to help them share their story. I want to help create a safe space for them to express themselves authentically.

What do you feel passionate about/what drives you?

Meeting people, getting to know their story and making connections. Telling their story through imagery.

Share an example of early life that has shaped you?

Around the age of fourteen I would find myself snapping photos with any little camera that was lying around in our house. That year I truly fell in love with photography. I discovered a platform where photographers shared their images, and I was just amazed by how some people that were the same age as me were able to create such stunning images. This really encouraged me to break my piggy bank and buy my first DSLR and start my own photography journey.

Highlights of your business journey so far?

I started out as a fashion photographer and worked with a few sustainable fashion brands, which I am also very passionate about. The first wedding I ever photographer was a full-on, full day wedding in a barn, and I shot it all by myself, without any assistants. I felt very proud after it.

Key lessons you have learned along the way?

Building a business doesn’t happen overnight. There will be ups and downs but you have to keep going. And don’t wait until you are ready, sometimes you just have to throw yourself into the deep end. That’s where you learn a lot.

Best piece of advice you have received?

Stay in your lane. Focus on your own goals, and don’t compare yourself to others.

Advice to an aspiring entrepreneur or woman just starting her career?

Try different things, it is ok if you don’t know exactly what you want to do at the start. You will find out along the way. It is a journey.

What funding route have you chosen for your business and why?

Self funding, I didn’t need investment.

Some of the challenges you have faced and how you overcame them?

At the beginning of my business journey, I struggled with feeling lonely and isolated. I have reached out to other business owners/creatives online and started attending meetups and built up a big circle of like-minded people around me which is super valuable.

Why is it important to support women-led business?

To increase the number of women in business, even in industries that are in majority led by men. Women and men have different approaches to business and it is important to bring them all on board. Women often get neglected and suffer from impostor syndrome, some of them take on the role of being a mother whilst running a business. All of these are strong reasons to actively support them on their journeys.
