How did it all begin?
Sitting in my home, post pandemic and during my second maternity leave. Nicki and I were deciding what was next for us both, professionally. We felt constrained professionally and personally at the firm we were working with and wanted to offer a service it could not support. We craved autonomy to work in a way that meets the individual needs of our clients and for ourselves and our families. We wanted to build a firm that embodied our values as lawyers together with those of us as individuals.
What sets your business apart?
We are a boutique firm with a heart. We handle matters with the respect and care it deserves creating a safe and supportive space for our clients while giving clear and expert advice. We work with our wider network of trusted advisers to ensure that our clients can access all the emotional and financial help they need from one place.
It is of critical importance to us to ensure that our fees are fully transparent and always fair. We will make sure that all our clients have clarity on costs from the word go.
I’s incredibly important to us that we give women the opportunity to thrive in law and beyond. We firmly believe that women-led businesses bring innovation, collaboration, and long-term value to their industries and communities. When women thrive, families strengthen, workplaces evolve, and economies grow.
One of the biggest criticisms we see of bigger firms is that clients feel lost in a sea of people working on their matter at any one time; we differ in this. Every client meets me and Nicki, and we work very much as a team tailoring our approach to each client. It’s also not just us; clients need more than lawyers. We think about the practical, emotional, and financial support our clients need from the outset, and have a purple book of people we work closely with who can support the client’s needs throughout their matter.
What is the concept behind your business or the problem you’re solving?
As a team, we support people through two of life’s biggest emotional, practical and financial challenges - separating/divorce and life planning/death are as tough as they come. Many of our clients run their own businesses, juggle the demands of home and children and are the sandwich generation, so when life throws curveballs, knowing which way to turn and where to find guidance and support is where we step in. We value our focus on empowering people to make informed decisions.
What is your brand vision?
In the past five years, we’ve built a team of 6 and have established ourselves as a leading name in family law. We have been instructed on cases of HNW and complex areas of law. This year we have had two reported cases which is testament to the interesting and complex work we are dealing with. We have also won a number of awards. We want to continue to build on what we’ve started, grow our brilliant and ambitious team. Whilst predominantly based in Richmond, we have a Windsor office which currently offers meetings only, and we want to expand to develop our presence in the area.
Our brand is rooted in our company’s ethos of providing excellent service with empathy. Family law and private client matters involve sensitive and emotional issues, whether it’s navigating a divorce, co-parenting matters after separation, crafting a will, or administering an estate. We focus on compassion, ensuring that clients feel they can talk to us and be heard, supported, and respected throughout their legal journey.
We brand ourselves as a firm that provides tailored, client-specific solutions. By focusing on personalised service, we ensure that each client receives advice and representation that is uniquely suited to their circumstances.
