Wellbeing well delivered.

We are committed to helping empower women to have the tools to feel better, all the time.

How did it all begin?

I was a corporate lawyer specialising in telecoms. But, then when I got divorced and I had three children under the age of seven to support and put through life and school, I had to make some hard decisions. My ultimate decision was that I wanted to be able to spend time with them because my son had been so ill he’d spent nearly two years in hospital. He had severe allergies and anaphylaxis and I was worried I would go to work and by some tragic feeding error he’d end up dead. So, I decided to stay at home. Then I wondered how to pay for everything as I received no financial support at all. What I knew to do was to help people get strong and healthy, as I had cured my son of eczema and asthma. At about the same time, my best friend came to me and was moaning about being fat. I was really dismissive about it as a problem and wrote up a list for her to follow. She lost all the extra weight within weeks and came to me saying ‘you know, people would pay you for this!’. The rest is history.

What do you feel passionate about/what drives you?

My gratitude for my life’s work fills me with an unceasing drive to learn more and gain a deeper knowledge of the body’s workings.

Share an example of early life that has shaped you?

The turning point was when I was desperate to make money to pay my bills, with three children under the age of seven, and as a single mother with no financial support it was sink or swim.

Highlights of your business journey so far?

In 2007 we launched the first ever home food delivery service and it was totally gluten and dairy free and always has been. In 2008 we launched the first juice fasts and delivered them and in 2012 the first cold press juices and smoothies in Wholefoods. I take huge pride in that and am proud of having changed the face of ‘health’ in the UK.

Key lessons you have learned along the way?

Never ever give up and always be willing to look at the bigger picture; and don’t be so hard on yourself.

Best piece of advice you have received?

This great quote ‘Change is inevitable, suffering is optional.’

Advice to an aspiring entrepreneur or woman just starting her career?

If you get good enough at what you do you will always develop a passion at it.

What funding route have you chosen for your business and why?

We are focused on slow and profitable growth.

Some of the challenges you have faced and how you overcame them?

Managing time has always been an issue. Learning to manage teams and teenagers is another one. Getting buy in from everyone has been the biggest learning curve, when we all move together we are more successful.

Why is it important to support women-led business?

Women supporting other women is immensely powerful and we can do amazing things if we work together.
