The Female Mentoring Alliance

The Female Mentoring Alliance offer women coaching and mentoring through one-on-one and group programmes. They help women reconnect with their true selves, rediscover their purpose and passion, and unlock their full potential.

How did it all begin?

When I stepped into the role of MD at a bank, I was met with a great deal of expectation, among those was the pressure to find a female mentor within the organisation, someone who could guide me. However, as I looked around, I found myself uninspired by the options. While there were certainly successful women, I didn’t feel a connection with any of them. Their values, behaviours, and ways of working did not align with what I aspired to.

At a crucial point in my career, I attended a training programme that left me feeling energised and inspired. The programme was everything I had been searching for - it spoke to my values, challenged my thinking and reignited my passion. After the programme, I was assigned a mentor whose approach and mindset were completely opposite. Despite both of our best efforts, the mentorship did not work. It became clear to me that mentorship isn’t just about matching job titles or industry experience; it’s about shared values, perspectives and a connection.

This experience sparked the idea for the FMA. I envisioned a space where women from different backgrounds and industries could come together to support and mentor one another, regardless of their professional paths. Imagine a banker being mentored by an actress on presence and articulation, or a jeweller receiving strategic advice from a lawyer.

What sets your business apart?

FMA is about more than just career advancement; it’s about creating a community where women uplift one another, share their expertise, and foster genuine connections. Through this alliance, I hope to empower women to find mentors who truly resonate with them, and to offer their own skills in return, creating a cycle of support and growth.

What is the concept behind your business or the problem you’re solving?

To broaden the scope and opportunities for mentoring and coaching, we need to move beyond the traditional confines of mentoring within the same organisation and industry. The Female Mentoring Alliance (FMA) offers a unique opportunity for individuals with specialised skills to come together, providing access to expertise that may not typically be available.

The beauty of FMA lies in its diversity - each woman brings her unique skills, experiences, and perspectives to the table, creating a rich tapestry of mentorship that transcends traditional boundaries.

What is your brand vision?

To kick off the mentoring process, women will be able to join chapters that resonate with their current stage of life. I believe we all go through different chapters, and these groups will help them find their tribe.
