We empower individuals to curate a personal fragrance wardrobe.

Featuring distinctive scents that resonate with each chapter of your life, moods, and style. Crafting your story with confidence, one fragrance at a time.

How did it all begin?

After 7 years working as a Concierge in 5-star hotels in Mayfair, I started to question what would be my next move… I was 37 years old at the time. My thoughts were swirling with questions like, ‘What do I know?’, ‘What am I an expert in?’, and ‘What am I passionate about?’ Initially, I considered Private Concierge, given my expertise, but a friend noticed my knack for perfumes. She suggested I could be a ‘Perfume Concierge’! The seed was planted and just over a year later, in December 2020, I made it a reality!

What sets your business apart?

My passion for discovering and promoting independent British fragrance brands. Beyond just offering products, I provide an immersive experience through personalised 1:1 discovery sessions, experiences and carefully curated collections. These services are designed not only to introduce clients to the exquisite world of niche perfumery but also to guide them in creating a fragrance wardrobe that is as unique and individual as they are. This bespoke approach extends to my corporate offerings, where I aim to provide meaningful, memorable gifts and experiences that stand out. It’s this dedication to personalisation, coupled with a commitment to showcasing the hidden gems of British perfumery, that truly distinguishes The Perfume Stylist in the luxury fragrance market.

What is the concept behind your business or the problem you’re solving?

The concept behind The Perfume Stylist is rooted in addressing the common yet overlooked dilemmas faced by fragrance enthusiasts and newcomers alike: the overwhelming choice of scents and brands, the uncertainty of finding fragrances that truly resonate with one’s personality, and the ennui that comes with a stagnant perfume collection. We solve these problems by offering a pathway to discovery and reinvention through our exclusive focus on British-made, small-batch fragrances.

Where to next/What is your brand vision?

International: I am really interested in expanding our B2B offerings, targeting key markets in the USA, Canada, Switzerland and beyond, wherever there’s demand for my services.

Building a team: hiring an assistant to support every aspect of the operation. A Sales & Marketing manager to grow our expansion and brand visibility.

Elevate my perfume gift sets to new heights of luxury with more sophisticated vials and packaging. This will open doors to collaborations with 5-star hotels and high-end companies, aligning with their standards of elegance and exclusivity.

I envision The Perfume Stylist becoming a cornerstone for corporate clients seeking bespoke fragrance experiences for their team, clients, partners, members, etc.

What do you feel passionate about/what drives you?

My business.
Spending time with my family and friends.

Share an example of early life that has shaped you?

My formative years were deeply influenced by my engagement in music and sports. Both my parents are violinists, from the tender age of four until I was fourteen, I dedicated myself to learning both the cello and piano, while also participating in swimming lessons and gymnastics. This period instilled in me a sense of discipline, perseverance, and the importance of balancing multiple commitments—a trait that has become a cornerstone of both my personal and professional life.

Highlights of your business journey so far?

Launching The Perfume Stylist in December 2020 was a leap into the unknown, but it’s been an incredible journey so far. One of the first ‘wow’ moments came when I landed my first big corporate order—350 gift sets for a US firm. It felt like a dream come true and a sign that I was onto something special.

Key lessons you have learned along the way?

You need to rest and have some time off. It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and passion for running the business, but true productivity and creativity flourish with balance.

I’ve also realised that success is rarely a solo journey. Surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals not only propels you forward but also enriches the journey with shared visions and support.

Listening to my intuition has been another invaluable guide. There’s a lot of noise out there so, trusting my gut helps in making decisions that align with your true path.

Best piece of advice you have received?

“You can be more than a simple private concierge, be a Perfume Concierge”.

Advice to an aspiring entrepreneur or woman just starting her career?

Do it!
Be kind to yourself.
Be patient.
Trust yourself.
Ask for help when needed.

What funding route have you chosen for your business and why?

I am self-funded and complemented by a meaningful contribution of £100 from a friend. This generous gesture enabled me to purchase my first set of travel-size vials before the launch. At that time, I did not have the mindset to create a business plan and go for funding. I still find the whole “Business Plan thing” overwhelming.

Some of the challenges you have faced and how you overcame them?

Ah, burnout – it truly took me a solid three years to finally give myself permission to take a day off each week and get smarter about organising my days. Before, I’d pile up 10 tasks on my to-do list, only to end up completing none. It was a tough lesson in setting realistic goals and learning to pace myself.

Why is it important to support women-led business?

Well, in my view, both back home in France and here in the UK, society has too often boxed women into outdated stereotypes – the sex symbol, the blond bimbo, the housewife, the mother, the housekeeper… These labels have shadowed women’s achievements, intelligence, and independence for far too long. For ages, we were seen as dependent on men, not quite their equals in capability or worth.

By rooting for women in the business arena, we’re not just challenging old norms; we’re pushing for equality and paving the way for a future that’s inclusive for everyone. And that’s something worth getting behind, I think.
