Share an experience or challenge that has shaped you? Growing up with someone dealing with health challenges taught me early on that health is never
just about perfect nutrition or restrictive protocols – it’s about the whole person, the life they lead, the challenges they face and the way they deal with what is going on for them. Watching someone I cared for struggle with approaches that addressed symptoms rather than causes deeply influenced the directions I explored and how I work now.
Best piece of advice you have ever been given? Look after your feet.
What advice would you give to your younger self or a woman just starting her career? Believe in your own brilliance more. People will try to diminish you, restrict you, caution you - often coming from a good place - a safe place, defined by their own mindset or experience or need for security or certainty. But one of the biggest drivers of exhaustion and depression - and not living your biggest, brightest life - is not being aligned to who you truly are.
And actively seek out support and guidance from older women - they can gain as much from you
as you can from them.
What does success mean to you? Building a life and work that I am truly believe in and am passionate about - and one that
matters, that makes a genuine difference in peoples lives. I want to wake up feeling excited about
my day and my life. And being surrounded with people that inspire me.
How do you handle challenges and changes? What's in your toolkit? Managing my own energy is critical for me - both physical energy and mental, emotional and soulful energy. Fatigue and exhaustion make every task and challenge harder to navigate well - and almost impossible to make good decisions. So managing your own energy system is key to living life strong and not depleted. Particularly for anyone running a business, you are in it for the long game, and there will always be challenges to navigate, so sustaining your energy through these times is essential.
Why is it important to support women in business and women-led business? In my experience, women-led businesses are created from deep-held values and belief and passion in what they bring to the world. It's not just a business to women - it’s a calling. So you are not just supporting a business, you are supporting bringing something that matters into the world.

Also, women have to prove themselves twice as hard as men, work twice as hard and juggle multiple demands on their time and energy. And tend to be less likely to ask for help. I know from experience working with professional women for over a decade, the toll this load takes on their energy, confidence and joy in life - so any way we can support other women is going to help. From the smallest gesture, like inviting them for coffee or lunch, to offload - to more substantial support, such as investing in their services or businesses - women often won’t ask, but will almost always appreciate it more than you realise.

60 Seconds with Jules Anderson

My inspiration is: Music, art & creativity, dance, books, nature, creative people, beautiful environments.
My greatest fear is: Other than something happening to my son, losing my health,
The most courageous thing I have ever done is: Going all in on my business as a single mother of a son
with additional needs. After years of building it alongside other work, I realised that wholehearted commitment was the only way I was going to build something that had real impact.
I am most proud of: My son, and myself for raising such a wonderful young man, through circumstances that were extremely challenging for both of us.
Guiltless pleasure: I think that all pleasure should be guiltless! I’m particularly keen on really good coffee or great ice cream.
Mantra I live by: Savour it. It’s easy, with so many responsibilities pulling at our attention all day long, to rush through life and breeze past every moment. I try to remember to stop and savour. From 10 minutes to fully enjoy my frothy coffee in the morning, to remembering to stop and celebrate the small wins in my business.
Female role model: Michelle Obama - elegant, passionate and full of integrity about the things that really matter in life, particularly around health and empowering young women.
Women-led brand I love: My local cafe Nue Ground is a beautiful space, has really delicious (and healthy) food, and has also opened a pilates/yoga/wellness studio next door. They also run wellness retreats. Joanna is always around - warm, friendly and fully involved in every corner of
her business
