Share an experience or challenge that has shaped you? Building my first business, 2to3days.com, from my kitchen table when I knew absolutely nothing about recruitment, technology and marketing.

And now starting again, building Midlife Mojo whilst living with my husband, who has terminal cancer.

Best piece of advice you have ever been given? Start small. Get really specific and stay in your lane.
What advice would you give to your younger self or a woman just starting her career? Trust your instinct, act on it and remember there’s a long road ahead full of wiggles and curveballs, so take care of yourself.
Also, the importance of building and nurturing your tribe of champions and championing others, too.
What does success mean to you? Living a healthy, happy life, rich with friends and opportunities and where my work integrates with my life.
How do you handle challenges and changes? What's in your toolkit? I am in the midst of handling a lot of challenges and changes!
I embrace them head-on and look for the green shoots of growth, which are always there, even in the darkest of times. I surround myself with a strong and supportive network who have my back both commercially and personally. I also reflect a lot, I talk to myself, and importantly, I listen to what my heart, soul and body tell me.
As I get older and hopefully wiser, I am learning to prioritise the importance of my oxygen mask first!
Why is it important to support women in business and women-led business? Building a business is not easy for anyone. It’s particularly tough for women as our social and economic culture still expects us to handle most of the unpaid domestic work and business opportunities, despite the progress that has been made, and still favours men. Therefore, the path to success for female founders is a lot tougher and lonelier.
It takes a strong, supportive network to build a business. Every female founder deserves commercial success on terms that work for her. By doing so, she will be an inspirational role model and support to current and future female entrepreneurs. It’s therefore a no-brainer!

60 Seconds with Juliet Turnbull

My inspiration is: My husband.
My greatest fear is: Not being good enough.
The most courageous thing I have ever done is: Fighting and surviving cervical cancer when I was 32 years old and going on to have two children naturally when the odds were seriously stacked against me, all whilst my husband was working in a war zone!
I am most proud of: Building 2to3days into an award-winning platform, earning the reputation for being one of the UK’s leading job-community platforms for women, and placing over 1000 women into great part-time flexible roles. I am also, for a whole host of reasons, seriously proud of my daughter.
Guiltless pleasure: Curling up in bed on a Sunday morning with a large cup of green tea and watching a box set or film.
Mantra I live by: Get up, Get out and Get Going
Female role model: I am a massive fan of Tina Turner and how she overcame so many struggles in her life. On a more personal note, I have a great set of friends who inspire me every day with their fortitude, wise words, and determination.
Women-led brand I love: ME&EM
