Stripe & Stare

I am the Co-Founder of Stripe & Stare, a female-founded British brand that creates the world’s most comfortable underwear and sleepwear. All sustainably sourced, B Corp certified, by Women for Women.

Share an experience or challenge that has shaped you? Growing up I had instilled in me the belief that I could achieve anything I set my mind to. This gave me the freedom to always try new things without the fear of failure holding me back.
Best piece of advice you have ever been given? Trusting your instincts and choosing to work with people you like and trust is essential.
What advice would you give to your younger self or a woman just starting her career? No one starts with all the answers, so dive in, ask questions, and build a community of likeminded people, mentors and advisors to support you.
What does success mean to you? Doing something you love, working with people you enjoy being around, being challenged and hopefully making the world a little better.  And of course having enough money to pay the bills and have some fun!
How do you handle challenges and changes? What's in your toolkit? We always say in stressful times ‘It’s just a pair of knickers’!  There’s nothing that can’t be solved or learnt from.  Talk to people, break it down, take time to relax and reflect and if all else fails pour a glass of wine!!
Why is it important to support women in business and women-led business? If women started and grew businesses at the same rate as men there would be an additional £250 billion to the UK economy. Yet less than 2% of VC funding goes to women despite them returning twice as much.  Communities and networks like TWC are crucial for sharing and learning.  I mentor as many female founders as I can as 55% of women cite the fear of being alone as a reason to not start a business.  The more we collaborate and share the more we’ll change these numbers.
