Founder

Frame

Pip Black is a seasoned entrepreneur best known as co-founder of Frame, the fitness brand that transformed London’s wellness scene with its boutique, pay-as-you-go model. Since launching in 2009, she and her co-founder grew Frame into a multi-site, multi-channel business spanning studios, apparel, equipment, and education. Pip raised £6m in private equity, steered Frame through the pandemic with a successful digital pivot, and in 2025 sold the business to Wellverse Holdings. Alongside launching Mumhood, a pre- and post-natal fitness platform, Pip has remained passionate about supporting women’s health and well-being. Now based in Somerset, she is bringing her expertise in brand and growth to her family’s fermentation venture, Cultjar.

Why is it important to support women in business and women-led business? In general, women-led businesses tend to think more about the overall positive impact of the brand and business… it’s not always just the financial transaction. Our brands tend to be a force for good.

60 Seconds with Pip Black

My inspiration is: Watching others as they make positive changes and show that things can indeed be done differently, and better.
My greatest fear is: My kids growing up too fast.
The most courageous thing I have ever done is: Sacking it all in to start a business with someone that I had just met; and then deciding to do it all again post-COVID.
I am most proud of: The fact that we are still going.
Guiltless pleasure: Spooning peanut butter in LARGE quantities.
Mantra I live by: If in doubt, MOVE YOUR FRAME – it will always make you feel better!
Female role model: Too many to mention, I am very lucky to be surrounded by incredible women playing a huge variety of roles in society… The world needs us all!
Women-led brand I love: Pip and Nut… I love Pip and I love Peanut Butter.
