Jane de Vos
Fractional COO
Latchgate Services Ltd.
Jane de Vos is a fractional COO for founders whose businesses have outgrown the systems holding them together.
Working with CEOs globally, she uses her Operational Tipping Point® methodology to identify the inflexion point where revenue is climbing, margins are tightening, everything still runs through the founder, and the systems holding it all together are best described as digital duct tape.
Share an experience or challenge that has shaped you? Starting my own business and finding my way on my own. I built it around myself, then realised I had become the bottleneck. Learning to remove myself from the centre is what shaped how I work now.
Best piece of advice you have ever been given? The work behind the scenes, the systems and the order, is what keeps a business standing - you need foundations in place.
What advice would you give to your younger self or a woman just starting her career? Step forward before you feel ready. Find people who tell you the truth, not just the ones who cheer.
What does success mean to you? Business freedom and having time. A life with room in it. The exhale, not the next thing to chase.
How do you handle challenges and changes? What's in your toolkit? I treat frustration as data. I regulate first, then respond. Then I find what's causing the drag and reset it.
Why is it important to support women in business and women-led business? It is the smartest investment there is. Back women properly, and the returns ripple out into families, teams, and communities.
60 Seconds with Jane de Vos
My inspiration is: The founders I work with, who keep building when it would be easier to stop.
My greatest fear is: Not doing enough to be a role model for my children.
The most courageous thing I have ever done is: Held up the mirror and realised I was in the way of my own success, which is what I do for my clients now.
I am most proud of: Running a successful business while raising my children.
Guiltless pleasure: Buying beautiful stationery.
Mantra I live by: Trust your gut.
Female role model: Natalie Ellis.
Women-led brand I love: Grace Beverley's empire!
